2nd March 2011 was another significant date in the rapid progress of the Order of the Scarlet Cord, with the Constitution of the District Grand Senatus of France.

Most Distinguished Companion Michael Guest led a team of Grand Officers to Lille by Eurostar for this special occasion.

In the morning session Michael, in his capacity as Grand Supreme Ruler of the Order of the Secret Monitor, consecrated Gallia Scarlet Cord Conclave. After a splendid buffet lunch, he signed a Charter releasing Gallia and the other two existing Scarlet Cord Conclaves in France from the control of the OSM and receiving them as Consistories into the Order of the Scarlet Cord.

The Grand Summus then constituted the Scarlet Cord District Grand Senatus of France, before installing Right Distinguished Companion Christian-Roger Uhmann as the District Grand Summus. Christian then installed his Deputy, Jean-Baptiste Poupart and Assistant Dominique Paquet and invested his first set of District Officers.

A splendid day's work by all concerned was followed by a swift train ride back to England.

All those who made the trip would like to thank our French Companions for their wonderful welcome and hospitality.
