An early start at the Masonic Temple in Gateshead saw the Grand Summus, Most Distinguished Companion Andrew Sweeney, together with a team from Grand Senatus, consecrate the Peter Glyn Williams Consistory No. 102 on Saturday 6th December 2014. Most Distinguished Companion Peter was of course instrumental in reviving the Scarlet Cord ceremonies, when he lead the Order of the Secret Monitor, and was appointed Past Grand Summus on the inauguration of the new Order in 2010. At the conclusion of the Consecration ceremony, the first President, Distinguished Companion Paul Johnston, was installed by the Deputy Grand Summus, Right Distinguished Companion Ian Currans.

The Grand Summus then proceeded to dissolve the Province of Durham, which included the newly consecrated Consistory and three others, together with the Inspectorate of Northumberland, which had one Consistory, and constituted a new Province of Durham and Northumberland. Right Distinguished Companion Bob Henderson, the Provincial Grand Summus for the old Province of Durham, was installed as the first Provincial Grand Summus for the expanded area. The latter subsequently installed Very Distinguished Companion Kenneth Embleton as his Deputy and Very Distinguished Companion John Warham (the erstwhile Grand Inspector for Northumberland) as Assistant Provincial Grand Summus. The remainder of the first Officers of the new Province were then appointed and invested.

Prior to the conclusion of the proceedings in the Temple, the Grand Summus promoted John Warham to the rank of Past Grand Vice Chancellor, thus making him a Right Distinguished Companion. This was extremely well received by all present.

The Companions then enjoyed an excellent lunch.
