A New Province
The Masonic Hall at Nailsea was the venue on the morning of Thursday 8th March 2018 for the Grand Summus, Most Distinguished Companion Andrew Sweeney, assisted by a team from Grand Senatus to dissolve the Inspectorate of Dorset, which was comprised of three Consistories, and to constitute a new Province of Somerset and Dorset, which would also include Somerset Consistory No. 98 formerly part of the Province of Western Counties. Right Distinguished Companion Ian Sullivan was then installed as the first Provincial Grand Summus. The latter subsequently installed Very Distinguished Companion Trevor Cooper as his Deputy and Distinguished Companion Laurie Brookes as Assistant Provincial Grand Summus. The remainder of the first Officers of the new Province were then appointed and invested.
At the conclusion of the proceedings in the Temple, the Companions then enjoyed an excellent lunch.
